Rebecca M. Lewis, MBA, was a Licensed Accountant and the Senior Accountant and Corporate Specialist at Bottom Line Accounting and had over 23 years of accounting experience in both individual and corporate accounting. She started her accounting career at Bottom Line Accounting in 2001. She had worked as a staff accountant at local CPA firms and at NVR, Inc., a Virginia-based publicly traded homebuilding corporation. She spent over 3 years working as the Cost Accountant for M.J. Soffe, LLC, a division of Delta Apparel, Inc., an international publicly traded company specializing in branded apparel. While employed at M.J. Soffe, she was responsible for the Branded segment, which included the Soffe, Intensity, Salt Life, and Junk Food brands. Before returning to Bottom Line Accounting in 2017, Rebecca held the position of Financial Controller for multiple locally owned management companies. As Financial Controller, she was responsible for the financial operations and business office staff of the multiple businesses owned and operated by these management companies. Her responsibilities included accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, human resources, banking, budgeting, and financial statement preparation.
Rebecca graduated Summa Cum Laude from Methodist University (formerly Methodist College) in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Accounting and Business Administration. Continuing her education at Methodist University, in 2010 Rebecca earned her MBA with a focus on Organizational Management and Leadership. Rebecca's love of learning was quickly evident in her swift grasp of all business and tax concepts that came across her desk and her lightening fast ability to research with passionate determination.
Both clients and colleagues alike valued and admired Rebecca for her practical and keen ability to analyze and competently take action in a professional and ethical manner in arriving at a solution that met their business and tax needs. And in a field of study that is often considered tedious and mind-numbing, Rebecca's playful since of humor was both a welcome surprise and a delight.
And while the loss here on earth is great, the gain in heaven is without bounds. Our daughter, the mother of our grandchildren, grandmother of our great-grandchild, your tax preparer, your friend, your confidant, is with her heavenly father. Rebecca is whole again and without pain. We will see her again!
